Mobile phones has become in the last years in something essentials for us. That´s why in a high competitive market mobile phones must highlitgh from their competitors.
Little by little vibration advice came into mobile phones. Screens went in colour. The antenna kept in the inside. Bluetooth made possible connection between devices… and mobile Internet was the big revolution on mobile devices. Being connected everywhere using our mobile devices has changed not only its design. Now we comunicate in a different way, we buy in a different way … even our mobile phones have turned into smartphones.
If we have a look at this study by Cisco about the mobile devices market share and mobile Internet, we´ll found two big points. In first place, mobile Internet in smartphones will grow 92% average per year until 2015. The second one, is amazing. Cisco estimates that mobile Internet traffic in tablets will be 206 times bigger than now.
In next five years, it´s expected to be nearly one mobile device per capita by 2015. If this is correct, there will be more than 7,2 billion mobile devices connected in the world.
According to this numbers and considering this is not a mature market, there are some precautions we have to consider. Cybercriminals have put their eyes on this devices, so we have to take care about we do.
This is why we have to be extremely carefully. In the same way we prote
t our pcs, we must protect our smartphones and tablets.
We have to deal with the same threats we find on our pcs. To avoid a virus infection we have several antivirus software depending on the operative system installed on our device. If we are Android users we can choose Kaspersky Mobile Security. If we are iOS users we can install VirusBarrier.
Another threat for our devices is malware. Malware is hidden by cybercriminals in some apps available on the app stores. For example iOS apps are safer than Android apps, because the higher requirements for developers.
We must also watch where we click. Links which redirects us to unknown or suspicious websites, or check email senders is a must in online security. Keeping this under control we will avoid lot of threats.
Mobile devices are changing also the way we buy. Now we can buy everywhere at any time. Here we must to pay attention to our mobile payment tool. Some banks have their own payment app. But we can choose another payment app offered by trusted companies as Google with its Google Wallet.
We can not forget children in this issue. There´s lot of children who use or own a smartphone. Imaging if controlling a child in an pc is difficult, trying to do the same on a smartphone it´s even harder. That´s why have to teach them how to use this devices. Child will carry always this with them.
If we teach how to use this devices in a safer way, we will be more quiet. But we are never satisfied with our children´s protection. So we can install some apps to control the content they see or their contacts.
It´s also highly recommended to use passwords for block, unblock or run some apps. We must use strong and safe passwords, not our car plates, birthday or weak number combinations.
If we follow this instructions our mobile connections will be safer. Although the best protection is common sense, the less common of all senses.
