Hanging pictures without turning the wall into a colander

Since man lived in caves decoration has been a part of him. In the same way houses evolutioned decoration changed too.

The most primitive decoration we know is cave painting. This cave paintings was painted using soot, animal fats and vegetables tyes.

A few thousand years later we still decorate our walls, not painting over them, but hanging pictures and photographs.

These pictures and photographs, are normally framed. This frame highlitht the picture and also Project it from time.

Usually the most used method to hang a picture is to drill the wall. And hang the picture using a block and a spike. To do this, you also need some tools and when you remove the pictures, holes remains in the wall.

To avoid those ugly holes, we have some “tricks” to hang our pictures and don´t leave the wall as a colander.

An easy to use invention are hangers, wich leave only a little nearly invisible hole. To use it we´ll need a hammer. So this hangers can support several kilos we can relax about to find our pictures on the floor.

Another option to hang our pictures are adhesive hooks. The same hooks we use in our kitchens. If you can stick it in our wall there nothing much to do. Only stick it, hang the picture and enjoy the decoration.

In the same line as adhesive hooks we have velcro. In this case we have to be careful to match the two strips between picture and wall. If we choose this way, then we´ll need to check the amount of velcro we need to keep our pictures hanging.
