There´s lot of people claiming against social networks. This people thinks we are losing face to face communication and social network make us lonely.
Actually, social networks have changed the way we comunicate. It´s no longer necessary to share a couch or being in the same room to see holiday´s pictures. You can do that everywhere.
We can use social networks to enlarge our contacts. Or at least to spread our messages as far as possible. Just two years ago we spoke about six degrees of separation between two persons in the planet. Now, thanks to Facebook we should speak about 4,74 degrees.
This fact confirms that technology make people get closer. And how we are going to see, can help people in their good willings.
Markus Thompson is our hero today. Markus is a photographer who found a Canon camera in the wharf in Deep Bay, Canada. Markus took the camera and proved that the sd card works fine. He found pictures of a family vacation. Quickly he posted on his Google + profile trying to found the camera´s owner to return the camera and also his memories.
Markus needed less than a day to locate camera´s owner. Hundreds of people contributed with more than one thousand messages.
Social network are useful to find bad guys too.
In Melbourne, Australia, some young people left a restaurant withouth paying the bill. Restaurant´s owner thought in social network to find them, and he was right. After a few searches the defaulter was found. Then our man called defaulter´s boss and explain the situation. The defaulter, who worked in a restaurant to, was fired, and, ashamed, finally paid his debt.
Attending to this, social networks are a powerful tool to help people. Everyday we can find true histories that restores confidence in other people.
